Finding the Title of an Old Horror Movie?

I remember seeing, about 7-8 years ago on TV, a movie about a man being haunted by a ghost. The movie was probably for the late 90s or early 2010. I remember two specific scenes: one, at night, in which the protagonist looks at the window of his apartment, where he sees a shadow of his girlfriend/wife, which then goes away and is followed by another shadow, this time the ghost, which creeps on the ceiling and goes after her. Another one is still at night, after the ghost has transported the protagonist somewhere else, either a memory or the past, and he is in the house of one of his relatives, who shoots a nailgun aimed at the ghost behind him, which then attacks him and leaves him trapped in some sort of plastic wrapped all around him. The protagonist tries to cut him free, but the trapped relative bleeds when he tries to cut it.
