1898 is stitched in white on the side. I have tried to look up the patter, but I haven't had luck. I even put it through Google Lens and I haven't seen anything comparable. It looks hand stitched and there is also a floral pattern stitched in the white material. It's absolutely beautiful. Overall, it is in great condition. There is some discoloration and fading of the green in areas, but that seems to be the only issue. I would love to find out how much this could be worth. It is 94x64 inches in total and the squares are 14inches each. Thank you!
This is lovely, most likely a whig rose interpretation. I am not convinced it is from 1898 based on the vibrant colors and very nice condition. You will need an expert to examine the threads and fabric. My guess is it is a reproduction of the one of the many variations on this theme...my guess is from the 1960s or 1970s, but the theme has come around several times!
Please post back with your findings! This is so lovely. I hope yours is truly from the 1800s. I don't give them a lot of stock because I used to be an avid cross-stitcher when I was young, and both cross stitch patterns and quilting patterns often have a date in the pattern that is when it originated not when it was actually done. Looking forward to hearing more about your piece!! Thanks again for sharing!

I have an antique crazy quilt top that is all hand stitched with a variety of embroidery techniques and has 1898 stitched on the front. It's 72" x 54" and has 12 blocks in various colors. Does anyone know what it might be worth?
You have some very good photographs and this usually helps when trying to sell something like this.
You may have to relist it several times but just drop the price in small increments - not a big drop.
You can also list it on Craigslist but just be sure to remove it if it sells on either site.
Good luck.
