I was just wondering what was the first Franklin Mint Diana doll ever made? I have a prototype, it only says on her side T52. I just wanted to know if I have the first one in her series of Franklin Mint dolls.
Thank you!

There was a lot of controversy around Franklin Mint and the Lady Di dolls. See this wiki (scroll down to the section that talks about it:

Hopefully one of the gurus on this site will know more. My FM knowledge is limited to the info above, which does not answer your question directly.
Who may be able to give you a direct answer is their Customer Services team. Couldn't hurt to try:
I found this site a while back, they seem like gurus....perhaps they can help...they buy also. I don't know them, but had the site bookmarked when a friend was looking to sell a few pieces. She changed her mind and held on to them, more out of sentimentally than anything. Not even sure she made the call.
Even though Franklin Mint dolls sell for $25 or less, the Princess Diana dolls seem to be the exception. I have seen them asking for $139. I would look at eBay every day for several weeks to get an idea of what they are selling for
There are so many of the Franklin Mint Diana dolls listed for sale that it seems anyone will be lucky to sell one for very much money.
The thing about first dolls (or almost anything collectible) is that it will usually always be stated prominently in a listed sale ad. I have not been able to find even one seller making this statement so it appears that it may be a true mystery or they may have produced several dolls at their first offering.
Since there was such a large law suit about all of this that went on for years, it caused a slow down in Franklin Mint production of Diana dolls but when you check asking prices you will find the same dolls listed from very high to very low prices (different conditions maybe).
Anyone in the market for anyone of these dolls has a wide range of choices - in style and price. I'm only stating this information so you can see that it really appears no one selling dolls has that information (who was the first doll?).
I have not seen any listing that shows any numbers like you say is on your doll but that is not unusual as most of the sellers would never remove her dress to look for markings.
I like the link that Pghgirl gave but I it appears they are mostly interested in coins and if anything else is offered they have a division that checks to see if they have any requests for that doll but they do not seem to have any first hand knowledge about anything but coins.
That being said; never hesitate to ask questions anywhere a site is available.

You may be able to find out about this doll if you ask on a doll forum site but other than that I'm not sure anyone can tell you (unless you pay for an appraisal).
Check out this site but if you ask questions you have to post pictures or they may not answer your question.
