My boot soles starting squeaking. Is there anything I can do to stop this?
By Kevin Atkinson from Chicago, IL
Some people swear by putting baby powder (talcum powder) in the shoe, somewhere in the shoe, but I don't know where. I never tried it because my ex sold shoes and he said that squeak comes from the shank in the shoe. When it squeaks, the shank is broken. The shank runs between the heel and the ball of the foot. Once it's broken, it's broken. I don't know if a shoe repair store can fix a shank.
Sorry for not having better news, but check the site. Maybe the powder will work for you; others swear by it. (07/25/2010)

WD40 did the trick, sprayed inside and underneath insert. (10/14/2010)

I didn't have any of the above-mentioned items so I squirted some 3-in-1 oil under the only part of the insole I could find in my Skechers. Yay! The squeak is gone!
Thanks for the ideas. (10/21/2010)
