I'm wondering how other people have addressed their cat peeing on their clothes. My cat was a rescue and is very attached to me. She started marking on my clothes, clean or dirty, it doesn't matter. And even marked on my bed, anywhere she smells me. My husband's clothes are not affected.
I keep my clothes in a hamper which works, but when I happen to get any clothes on the floor even for a short period of time, she gets them. And when I fold clean clothes in the laundry room on the counter, she gets those too. She's even climbed in my closet and marked on the clothes I had folded on the shelves. Again, just mine. I'm thinking she is claiming me as hers since we did get another cat a year after we had gotten her. Is this an attachment issue? How do I break her of this?

You may need to speak to your vet about giving your cat anti anxiety medication to reduce her need to make her territory.
Hi,
Cats are as smart as dogs, in my opinion, and sometimes maybe smarter. When you see the cat go towards an item of clothing, tell her to go potty outside. Then take her outside the way you would a puppy. I have had this situation before.
Putting the cat in the litterbox will not work if the cat doesn't like the feel of litter on it's feet.
I would actually use wee wee pads on the litterbox for cats who won't work with litter.
I have set up baloons under clothes so they would pop when the cat gets on them.
Sometimes a cat condo is the answer, where the cat can be when unsupervised.
Also do not leave cat food out. Feed at a certain time of day and keep consistent.
Making a routine out of eating, telling the cat it has been a good, playing and then bringing the cat into its room where it has its box or wee wee pad, will help in the long run.
However, that being said, there are always boo-boos our pets make, and if we don't catch them and carry them to the appropriate place, the moment for teaching manners is lost :)
So make sure to feed a diet not full of corn, take up the food after the cat has eaten, tell the cat he is good, pet him, play with him, put him on his area where he can go to the bathroom, and watch carefully to catch any behavior that is wrong and lead him to the right behavior.
Good luck and happy house-training;)

Have you had the kitty to the vet to rule out an underlying health issue first? This is always our first step when a fur kid has any change (or new unpleasant) habits related to potty or food. In our world most of the time with potty issues there is an underlying health issue--usually easy to treat. With food it is primiarily allergies.
I add food into this mix for you, as if this is related to urgency instead of marking, there could be a food issue going on.
Is the cat also going in the little box? Where is the litter box in relation to the clothing that the cat is peeing on?
Post back what the vet says! Hopefully there is an easy fix!!
