Fixing Greasy Soup

November 21, 2005

Fixing Greasy SoupRemove excess grease from soups and stews by putting a lettuce leaf in it. Let the lettuce leaf absorb some of the grease and then toss it. You can also put a few ice cubes in your soup and stir them around a bit. Then quickly remove them before they melt. Fat will stick to the sides of the ice cubes.

I know I have asked this before. but please put your name on your tip. It just really helps to know who is on here, like a community.

Thanks

I just take a paper towel and blot the top of the liquid to sop out the excess fat. It works for me.

You can also put ice cubes in a metal ladle and run it around the top of your soup. Grease will stick to the bottom of the ladle, then wipe it off with a paper towel.
