Rubbing alcohol on your windshield wipers makes badly streaking wipers change to near perfect silence and clarity, it makes them "squeak proof".

How can I quiet noisy windshield wipers without replacing them?
By gary bluemel from Knoxville, TN
Squeaking or otherwise noisy blades means that they need to be replaced. WD40 will smear on the windshield and impair vision.
I live in a dessert region and often get that squeak during 'dusty months'. What I do is wipe off the blades with a really wet rag and the squeak goes away. When it doesn't help I know for certain it's time to replace them.
Ditto on not using anything 'oily/oily based' like WD40 to clean or coat the blades!
