They do break after awhile. Get a new bottle when soap goes on sale and refill it with your own until it breaks.

there might be a problem with the air flow into the unit. I believe foam is produced when the soap interacts with the vacuum state inside the bottle.

I suggest this was defective or you could try to fix the leak

A lot of pump soap containers need to be cleaned out and un~gumped. Can do this by removing the cap and run hot water through the tub. Also soak the head of the sprayer to loosen up any dried gunk.
