Folded Beaded Brooch from Old Jeans

The completed beaded flower brooch. Don't throw away your old jeans. Fold a few denim circles, add beads and you will have this original brooch. I like very much the contrast between the raw edge of the denim and the pearlescent color of the beads.

Total Time: 30 Minutes

Supplies:

piece of denim from old jeans
6 beads with diameter 0.8 cm (I used white pearlescent beads)
strong thread (closest color to the denim)
strong needle for hand sewing
brooch pin
scissors
pencil
compass or a round object with a diameter of 2 inches

Steps:

Draw three 2-inch circles on the wrong side of the denim and cut them out.

Fold each circle in half, then in half again to find the middle. Sew the middle of each circle (see photos).

Straighten the folds to form a circle. You will have six folds in total. Sew all the folds at the base by joining them together and adding one bead to each fold (see photos).
