I have a Janome 1550 and it has all been working fine. I just filled my bobbin up. Then I threaded it all through. I pulled the bobbin thread up. When I went to press my foot on the pedal, it makes the noise that it's working, but the needle isn't working or going up and down. I can see it work manually by winding the circle on the side of the machine, but the electric foot will not. Help please. Thanks so much.

After you wound the bobbin did you snap the winding spool pin back to sewing mode? :) A lot of us do forget that :)
Try using your manual for a refresher with the step-by-step instructions to reseat the bobbin, and thread the upper path and then pull up the bobbin thread, then commence to sew. If that doesn't help, it's time for a visit to the repair tech.
