My grandson and I have found what appears to be a duck or a goose nest in my next door neighbor's yard out near the road under a tree in some mulch. There are five eggs in the nest, but we have not seen what it is that laid the eggs. They resemble duck eggs is there any nature place that will come and take a look and see if they are viable? We don't think the mother is going to come back it's been a few days and I have stepped out and looked over at the nest and there's never any type of bird or whatever on the nest. So are there groups that will come to check it out?

The mother may have been scared off. She probably wont come back and the eggs will never hatch.
This may be too late for your situation...but we have a wildlife resource center in my town that we can contact with questions and situations like this.
If the nest has been abandoned for more than a few hours...it could be one of two things...I have read that the mom's will abandon eggs that they know are not viable. It could be that is what happened in your situation or sadly, the other situation is that the mom was killed or died from any number of things from a car to a predator...and the unprotected eggs perish from not being nested properly. Sometimes if the wildlife center knows time frames, they can pick eggs up to incubate...I have read it is WAY to complicated to do in the home...so leave that one to the pros.
Depending on your state, there are a variety of laws about bird eggs and moving/disturbing them. They often spark ire in people as we are humans want to help and the law (depending on where you are) can punish you if someone finds out.
That all said...it may be best just to let nature take its own course. If the eggs start to smell or attract flies, you may want to dispose of them as they can create quite the stench. That to me is the final determination of them not being viable.
Mother Nature can be as cruel as she can be beautiful and kind.
