Anyone know where my young mentoree can obtain free CPR and First Aid certificates? She needs them to work in a daycare center. We are located in the Washington, D.C. area. I have tried the Red Cross and AHA.

Doesn't she have to pass these courses in order to get the certificates. I do know the Red Cross charges for the courses they offer. Sometimes you have to spend money to get the job you want. If she pays for a course she will be better prepared than from a free course. You could call your local paramedics and see if they know of any free courses in your area.
Hi - most courses are given at local colleges and will cost a fee - no other way that I have heard of. She may get assistance from the college but doubtful.
You can check with your local fire department as they are required to have these courses.
Most fire departments offer CPR and First Aid.
You might want to check with your local Fire Department.
