Craigslist.org has a category "FREE" that consists of used furniture tossed out from a rental or replacement of their own furniture pieces. There are a mixture of conditions from poor to good of all kinds from appliances to living room, etc.
I would go on Facebook and ask there to start off with. You should try and find people in your hometown to get furniture from. There is also Craigslist and even thrift stores that will give people furniture in need. You can also try on Freecycle to post there for help.
Craig's list,Free cycle, facebook would be a good start, lets not forget HUD. You can also check with area churches and neighbors. There more free items towards the end of the month for people who are moving.Keep a look out, the end of the month is moving fast!
Where are you located (city and state or county/state).
Do you have young children? Any disabilities?
The more info I have, the better I can guide you!
