I have a subscription to Reminisce magazine and there's a section where people can make requests like this and have others respond with ideas or patterns by email or snail mail. (02/04/2010)

You can find loads of free patterns online. I use Google, and type in free hand embroidery patterns. The different websites will have a lot of patterns to sell, but most of them will have some free patterns which you can download.
I have accumulated well over 100 free patterns for knitting, crocheting, and other crafts as well as 25 or so ebooks for everything including recipes, too. I bought USB flash drives so one is for knitting and crocheting patterns, one is for crafts, and one is for recipes. That way I'm not loading the hard drive on my computer, and they are all in alphabetical order. (02/14/2010)
