I like to purchase bacon in the large package and prefer the thick sliced. If I don't freeze it, it will not hold the flavor until I use it all.
When we have company, I just take out extra and fry it in the frying pan.

I've been doing this for years. Same thick bacon from the same store. Cut, separated and wrapped the same.
The only thing different is that I've never cooked it on a George Foreman grill. Wish I knew how the bacon turns out, I may invest in one of those grills.
The Foreman grill works good for bacon but the little grease tray is way too small so you need to get creative. I didn't replace mine when it broke because it was too difficult to clean.
