Yes.
Cut ripe , firm cantaloupe into chunks or balls and flash freeze (lay onto a pan in one layer and freeze)
Put into bags or containers.

I froze it once to use for fruit salad(preserves) when the other fruits were ready. It froze just fine but tastes like carrot.

Yes, but unless just the correct ripened stage, not too ripe, it will be either mushy on the outside of each ball, or will be too hard because it was NOT ripe. It's freezable like most fruits. God bless you. : )
