Freezing Your own Hamburger Patties

When I freeze my own hamburger patties, I cut pieces of freezer paper into squares a little bit bigger than the patties. I put two pieces of the paper between each patty, slick side towards the patties. When I go to use the frozen patties, they don't stick together because of the freezer paper.

I cover a cookie sheet with foil, spray with Pam and then put individual patties on and put the tray in the freezer. I always make veggie burgers, but regular hamburgers will work just as well. After they are frozen, I put each in a sandwich size plastic bag, seal it up and put them all in a gallon sized Ziploc bag and store in the freezer. You don't even have to thaw them out before cooking....just sauté in a frying pan till nice and browned. However, be careful if you are using regular hamburger, they need to cook longer so they cook completely.
