Gold Post Medal for All Time! 555 Posts A delicious change of pace from hamburgers using ground beef or a mixture of ground beef and ground chicken.
Total Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 lb ground chuck and/or ground chicken mix
- 1/4 cup parsley
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups onions, sliced
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth (or boullion cubes)
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
Steps:
- Combine chuck, parsley, salt and pepper into patties. Mine made 6 patties but I chose to freeze two, so I only made 4 for dinner.
- Dredge patties in flour.
- Cut up onions as small as you like them. We like onions so I left mine larger.
- Heat oil in pan over medium. Add patties and saute 4 minutes on each side or until browned and remove from pan.
- Add onions and sugar in pan. Saute' 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and tomato paste.
- Sprinkle onion mix with remaining flour.
- Cook 1 minute. Stir in broth and wine. Add salt and thyme.
- Return meat to pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 10 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite veggies and enjoy!

Excellent. I have never made my own Salisbury. I've had a couple and I have to admit they all came frozen. ;) thanks for sharing!

Yes, a good way to slip in ground chicken too!
I kept some of the gravy aside and froze it to add to future burgers as well!
