I have a GE washer, model # gtwsn3000m1ws. It will not stop agitation when the cycle is done. I replaced the timer and that solved the problem for about 2 weeks then it started acting up again. The only way to stop the agitator is to raise the lid.

You could have a lid switch issue or transmission problem.
What you really need is a washer repair person to make a housecall. However, sometimes they are pretty hard to find. if you have someone who is mechanically inclined, it might be fixable if you google the problem.
The problem seems to be the switch that is controlled by the washer lid.
Just like the switch on your refrigerator door that is controlled by the door.
Repair service calls can run into over $100 because there is always a base charge no matter what happens after they arrive.
I would suggest you Google Sear Service Center with your zip code and if you have one in your area check with them as they can tell you what you need and order it (no matter the brand).
Some employees may try to get you to have a service call, but - keep talking - ask to speak to a service tech - or call another center.
