My bank is not close to my home but when I want money, I never pay ATM charges after my banker told me this hint. She said that when I am shopping and using my card, to ask for some cash back. Check with your store first and make sure they do give cash back first. I do this now instead of ever using an ATM that would charge me to take out my own money!

You have to be careful of using your card also. I used to do that and noticed on the bill when it came in that one of the cards charged a fee for cash back.
I use the cash station machine at my bank and am never charged a fee.
Yes, my bank doesn't charge a fee to use their ATM (I didn't think any charged a fee to use their own atm) but my branch isn't close/convenient to visit each time I want cash since I live rurally.
The key issue however is that many (most?) credit cards will charge you for the "cash advance" in the form of a fee or percentage of amount taken as cash. There is no free ride here, and since most banks don't charge for using their atm's for getting cash, your plan is flawed and not as "free" as you make it seem...
