I just got outdoor wicker furniture and a cat has already sprayed it. How do I get rid of the smell and urine, but also keep it from happening? I haven't gotten a cover yet. ): (Not talking about the cushions.)

Enzymatic cleaners are really the only thing that will get rid of that smell. These cleaners use enzymes to break up the organic matter that causes the smell. "They work quickly by bio-degrading the stain, grease, oil, dirt, grime, vomit, urine, blood, coffee or food into its basic carbon, hydrogen or oxygen element, eliminating the problem. "
You can buy one here www.chewy.com/
or, if you have brown sugar, citrus peels and a lot of time on your hands, you can make your own: www.wikihow.com/
There are a lot of urine odor removal products out there now; not like it was 40 yrs. ago. At that time, my mother-in-law had bought a farm house where cats stayed inside the enclosed porch and went potty. The smell was wrenching.
She bought approx. 10 bottles of Lysol in the brown bottle and generously poured it directly into all the cracks of floor boards and baseboard. She allowed the Lysol to set in for days before taking the hose to it. After a rain, and no more bad odor, she knew she had solved the issue.
Ugh. We had this problem a few years ago with a porch pillow. Had limited success with washing it with vinegar and hot water. Equal portions. The same combo can be used on wicker. When I was wet, I doused it with baking soda and when it dried, shook it off into trash and then hosed it down with cold water. Final dry in sun.
The vinegar was supposed to be a deterrent but it didn't work. We eventually stopped the bird feeder fills and the cat eventually moved on.
The pillow got tossed before the end of of summer as repeated treatment took it's toll. Wish I had stopped the bird feeder earlier. Sometimes the best solution is to have the cat move on.
Not useful if it is your own fur child. If it is your own, maybe the vet can give you you some anti markings hints and tips!
Good luck!
You need a cleaner with enzymes like Natures Miracle
