The beetles have gotten into my son's house. How do we get rid of them or will they eventually leave on their own? There are a lot of them.

Try this: orangeguard.com. Orange Guard is a new bug spray that's made from orange peals and is safe enough to use in the kitchen and around babies and children.
They won't leave on their own. There are also some products made with Boric Acid that the roach or beetle walks on. The Boric Acid powder then gets into their shell and dehydrates them and this kills the nasty little buggers. I'm sure you can find more details on line. If the beetles are ladybugs they are harmless. They come inside in the fall. You can vacuum them up with a clean vacuum bag and release them back outside. (11/11/2009)
It depends on the beetles you are talking about. Some beetles infest pantry foods and will be there as long as the food source is there. Lady bugs (beetles) can show up in the Fall and will slow down once it stays cold, but can be a nuisance until then. There are a number of black colored beetles of different sizes show up in structures in the Fall, usually are only around a couple of weeks. (11/22/2009)
