I have these black snakes that keep reappearing in my front yard, my dog finds them. It seems like they keep coming out under a portion of my house. We're talking 3-6 feet long, non poisonous, with round pupils, but would you want your grandkids finding these? How do I get rid of them?

You could try advertising. Some farmers with grain sheds would love to have them because they eat the rats and mice that eat their grain.
If you remove their food source, they're likely to leave, though not overnight. Rats, mice, other small animals?
You need to find out what is attracting them - usually it's a ready food source, and the black snakes ('Black Racer', King Racer') are there for rodents. Rats or mice are their preferred meal, so you need to find out if you have either infesting your property.
Consult with your local extension agent (in the phone book under county government) to learn more about what attracts black snakes, how to eliminate the attraction, and how to cope with the thought of snakes on your property - even these beneficial snakes which is what black snakes are:)
Might be a good time to teach your grandkids about the part beneficial snakes play in our environment. They keep rat populations down. I can't say I love snakes, but I really hate wild rats. I encourage snakes on my property. My neighbors tried to get rid of the local bat population a couple years ago.
I couldn't have said it better, myself.
Black snakes appear because food is available so perhaps leaving them MIGHT be beneficial. If you live in an area where poisonous snakes live, keep the black snakes around because they'll keep the area cleared. Copperheads and Water Moccasins don't usually show up when black snakes are around.
