Well I found out what they were they were coming out of my cornhole bags so I think they were weevils. Either soybean bugs in weevils.

For a while we had loose bay leaves everywhere to keep them away (but you need to be REALLY careful with those as they can be choking hazards for small animals or kids).
I prefer the vinegar cleaning (cheaper) than the site's other suggestions.
