Kind of looks like a grain beetle or flour beetle. Maybe they're coming from your kitchen. I'd check your flour stock and such.

To trace the trail, put some masking tape on the floor where you have seen them. Put some sugar or honey on it. You will then see where they are coming from.
They are stink bugs. Gross and nasty but not impervious.
