I took the advise posted about washing my kitten in Dawn for fleas and I believe it worked because she stopped scratching. And I sprayed my carpet with apple cider vinegar not white. But I feel itchy; I think there are more in my carpet. Should I spray the white vinegar now or just buy some flea spray for my carpet and my house?

Many people have had success using either Diatomaceous Earth (food grade only), Borox or salt. Sprinkle on your carpets, wait a couple of days and vacuum up. Repeat every week until all signs of the fleas are gone.
Use a mixture of 1 part salt to one part baking soda, you can apply with a flour sifter, to all your carpet, sofa & chairs leave down for 48 hours then vaccum. This works better than anything I have ever tried. We were flea city here in North Texas this spring and summer, not to mention cheap neighbors who just live with the itch. We order a spray for the yards and patio that has a growth inhibitor, also an insecticide you can put on with a miracle grow sprayer.
