Getting Rid of Fruit Flies?

How do you get rid of fruit flies? I tried apple cider vinegar. I caught a huge amount of them, but there are 10 stragglers left. Perhaps they are the smarter, more evolved fruit flies.

Put some ripe or over-ripe fruit in the microwave and leave the door open for a few hours. When all the fruit flies are in the microwave, close the door and zap them for about 30 seconds.

Try bowls of something interesting (beer, stale juice, ...) into which you have placed a few drops of liquid dishwashing liquid. Keep them on the kitchen counter or the window sill if that's where the flies land.

I have tried beer and soap, apple vinegar, in cents, what can you do about plants, i put a plastic bag over my plants and tied the end kept them like that for week and a half. I replanted them and a day later their where eggs in each plant, so I put bags back over them again we have not seen any more fruit flies in the house so how did the eggs get there, and how long should I keep them in a bag?
