Does anyone know what these little critters are and more importantly, how do I get rid of them? They've invaded my apartment. I have no plants or pets and I don't leave my windows or doors open. Help!

Rid house of little brown bugs.
It looks like a drain fly. Their breeding sites are drains especially clogged or greasy drains. They deposit eggs inside walls of sewer drain pipes.
You need to have your pipes cleaned. Keep toilets clean, sinks and any clogged drains. Clean drains with baking soda vinegar and run the water for about five minutes. Put a boiling kettle of water down the drain first.
It looks like it good be a drain or fruit fly. Here's how to deal with them:
Step 1
Check your drains for larvae. Put tape over the top of drain and poke some holes in it. If the flies get stuck on the tape, then you know you have drain flies.
Step 2
Shower pans leak often and are a breeding ground for them. Check there and clean with bleach.
Step 3
If they're coming from your window area, you may have to look for cracks to re-grout.
Step 4
Since you're not certain what it is, try a multi pest killer. This one is available at most stores: www.target.com/
