Last week I started seeing these little red dots on my kitchen counter. Now they're in the living room as well. They're not on any windows and don't seem to be on the lights anymore than anywhere else. I did find them in pasta and crackers and both were closed packages in a cabinet. They don't respond to ACV or sugar. I activated yeast to see if that's why they were in the boxes I found. Nothing is getting rid of them and they're multiplying rapidly. I would greatly appreciate any ideas anyone has as to what they are and how to eradicate them.
Thanks

I would do an insect bomb. You will have to leave the house for a few hours
Sounds like clover mites. They are basically harmless, but a huge pain in the butt to get rid of.
Not granted, this is a site for an exterminator--it has a good photo of them--www.americanpest.net/
You can try getting rid of them with frequent vacuuming, and then dumping the bag outside and away from the house. Also clean the space where you have seen them with as hot a water as your space can tolerate and not damage the walls or cabinets, etc.
They like tall grass so if you have grass along the perimeter of your home, keep it very short and if possible, not touching the foundation of the home. Be sure to caulk around doors and windows if there are cracks and crevices that they use as entry points.
I hope you can get rid of them quickly. Post back with an update.
