They seem to be dropping from the ceiling. They look like different bugs possibly. But I am getting bitten throughout the night and sometimes also in the day. I believe they also travel.

They could be a type of gnat. Spray with an insecticide.
There are different types of bugs that bite and they do not have to be bed bugs. This one looks like a gant and it can be a pain when you have a lot of them in your home. You can try to go to a see a person at your local pest control office and ask them if they have a bomb that you can set off in your home to get rid of these.
In the one photo this looks like a bed bug.
If it is bed bugs, I strongly suggest not messing with home remedies and getting a professional in to take care of it.
