Purchased this house 1 1/2 years ago, pretty much sight unseen. It was a pig pen, I don't believe it was ever cleaned as dust was major. My BIG problem is owners couldn't hit the toilet when urinating. The linoleum was completely eaten up.
I started by replacing the floor, still stinks, I spray and spray everything from disinfectant to fresheners. I resigned to replace whole bathroom and when I removed the vanity, I found the urine had penetrated the wood so I burned it. BIG help but still stinks. I will replace the tiles next and Clorox and disinfect the concrete next.
BUT to thank me for over paying by $20,000, the woman and her mother squatted in several more places in the house and then painted a few walls with feces.
Can't get the stench out, any suggestions PLEASE! OH, they were adults that P'd all over the bathroom, not kids!

Have you consulted a professional - just to see what they tell you?
The Internet is full of all types of suggestions, as I'm sure you already know, but I have found that an Enzyme Cleaner is the only thing that works for me. It's for sure that I've never had to tackle a job such as you have.
I would suggest having a professional give you an estimate on what they would do to remove this odor. This will at least provide some ideas on what it may take for you to do the job yourself.

Thank you for replying. The article was helpful to let me know my battle.
I think you are also right that the stink is still a memory in my senses. (and I hope it goes away, although I don't think I'll ever be happy here?)
Can I go on?
Maybe I can beat it. If I never open that BR door I'm not getting it so bad. I think as your article said I have to go right down to the concrete floor and use the enzyme cleaner on the concrete AND before I refinish the BR, I'm going to wait and see if that worked. I don't care if it takes a month!
I love your tenacity, so I feel sure you will overcome this problem.
The enzyme cleaners really work on almost any kind of urine smell. So many people struggle with this odor - human and pets - and just keep trying all kinds of cleaners, never realizing they are usually wasting their time and money. Some other cleaners work to a degree, but enzyme cleaners do a good job.
You're right about what to tell a professional - just say it stinks!!
Also, after you use enzyme cleaner on your concrete - maybe more than once - be sure to buy the best concrete sealer you can find.
I know how you feel about where your house is located, so I hope it all works out well for you.
YES, Concrete sealer! I have been avoiding that bathroom but I'll have to do it and sealer is a great idea. Thank you
Nights here are so dark and quiet except for some birds singing after dark. I can see forever all the stars. I lived my whole life to end up here and can't let this defeat me!
I recall an incident of a married couple who bought a farmhouse and it smelled horrible of cat urine. They were trying to remove the odor and the only that worked was the brown bottle of Lysol poured full strength into the floorboards and baseboard area of the front porch and after about 5-8 bottles later, the odor dissipated and never returned and they lived happily ever after.
Sounds logical, but their problem was outside and most likely in the ground under the porch. Also, sun and rain may have helped the Lysol do a better job.
To ALL, Thank you for the advice and I took all of them seriously.
TODAY I dove into it, ripped up the tiles and found 2 molds under the tiles. I removed all the fixtures and all the tiles Used a product to loosen the glues from the floor and washed the floor with Clorox. Let it dry and I used that Pooph stuff and then sealed the concrete. Whole house smells better.
Again, I Thank everybody!
