Before moving to north central Florida, I had never been acquainted with yellow flies. There is a period of time, usually in May, we are swarmed whenever we go outside. The bites, owwwww! Traditional, sprays citronella, etc., has been ineffective. Any suggestions to repel these insects or coexist? Help!

I have lived with deer flies. The only solution I ever found was to be ever vigilant, swat fast or run fast or both.
