Getting Rid of a Nesting Pigeon?

How do I get rid of a pigeon who has made a nest with 2 eggs on my roof top deck (it's in a planter)? Help. I hate pigeons.

First get rid of the nest. Then place a plastic toy in the planter where the nest was. If it is large you may have to use several toys. Don't know why but they dont like the toys.

It actually won't be there long, in about three weeks the eggs will hatch, couple or three more weeks and the babies will be gone. Just make sure to rig the planter to where they won't come back next year. Put something inside, like the previous poster suggested?

That's cruel to rip that from the Mother. Pigeons are very gentle creatures and you want the babies dead? I wouldn't want you any where near me or mine. What is she hurting? What joy do you get by being mean? I would love an answer.

You are an idiot! Pigeon poop is full of bacteria and that is dangerous to humans. Get a life

BECAUSE PIGEONS CARRY SOME VERY NASTY TRANSMISSIBLE BIRD DISEASES, HAVE EXTREMELY TOXIC AND CORROSIVE POOP WHICH CAN SPREAD ABOUT 60 DIFFERENT DISEASES, NOT TO MENTION THEM AS WELL AS THEIR NESTS CARRY AND TRANSMIT SUCH NASTY CRITTERS AS FLEAS, TICKS, AND MITES, ALL OF WHICH CAN CAUSE INFESTATIONS IN YOUR HOME. THEY ARE ESSENTIALLY FLYING RATS.

I love the pigeons, but they are making a huge mess IN my outdoor kitchen. It has a graveled floor, and plywood walls, which are covered on droppings. I just want to move the nest, i would never kill the birds...

We are preparing to fully enclose the top edge which is their access...

I am 53 years old now with an excellent health and I have been keeping pigeons or caring for stray pigeons since I was 5.Pigeons have some diseases that can be transferred to other pigeons but the probability of a human getting a disease from a pigeon is highly unlikely.Pigeons are very sweet creatures.Only people who own many pigeons should take some measures like wearing masks when cleaning lofts. If you want to stay healthy ,keep away from booze, smoking , gambling and bad marriages.Best of luck!

Wow. The bird and her young won't be there that long. Moving a nest is risky and the mother may not find where you place it and you may place it in an unfavorable spot. When they leave just move your planter.

I'd love to watch the eggs hatching and the young birds developing. I think you are lucky!

I have just come home after being away for a week on a work trip. I always smoke on my balcony and went outside and noticed more pigeon feathers than normal. I went outside a second time and halfway through my smoke a pigeon flew off my balcony. As I didn't see her there before, I went over to where my poor dead flowers are in their planter and noticed 2 eggs. How do I remove these eggs? And how do I remove them so as to not get attacked?

Wait until the eggs hatch and they are gone, then fix the balcony so they don't return. Just a small inconvience for God's creatures. Around here, peope call mourning doves, pigeons, which are members of the dove family.

I have an issue I need some help with!! I have a back door thats closed off from the elements but not to animals so two pigeons layer two eggs last year and they stayed until they got big enough to leave the nest. I had to paint because they ruined the back landing. Now the two who hatched here are back!! They laid an egg on a bag of trash my husband was about to take out and saw the egg and now I dont knkw what to do!!

I cant leave the trash out there and I was thinking of making a bird box out of a bucket on its side and put some hay in it and transfer the egg into it. I would leave the bucket in the same place the egg is now I just cant leave it atop a trash bag! Any suggestions or advice? I dont want to disrupt nature I just want to fix the issue of the trash.
