Getting Vaseline Off a Couch

Does anyone know how to get Vaseline (petroleum jelly) off of a fabric couch? I got some on my couch, and then when I tried to use soapy dish soap to get it out (which is what I have used in the past for "stuff" on the couch) all it did was make a water mark with the Vaseline spot still there. Help.

Try using Dawn dish soap straight from the bottle with a tooth brush and gently rub it in. Its made to cut grease and should help get it out. (05/22/2008)
