My dog passed away after getting parvo. It's been 6 months now. I've cleaned the whole floor with the bleach solution various times, is there anything else I should do? I want to bring a new puppy home, but I am too afraid as I've heard a lot about parvo and also how it can be spread to the new puppy as well.
Please let me know when can I bring a new puppy home.

Anything connected to your other pet needs to be removed to be on the safe side(toys,beds,etc.).
Parvo lasts 6 months inside and up to a year outside. If you have a backyard you want the dog to use, I would wait.
The safest way to make sure a new puppy doesnt get parvo is to have him vaccinated by your veterinarian. They are vaccinated at 6, 8 and 12 weeks. When the series of shots is completed the puppy is safe.
It has been 6 months and it sounds like you have cleaned your home and gotten rid of the virus. Just make sure you did not save any of the other dogs bowls or toys. Anything the other dog has used needs to be gotten rid of before you bring a new puppy home.
Did you bleach baseboards and walls where other pup could get to. Also bleach water yard. That's what my vet said when mine had it. Bleach is only thing that kills. It's a pain to bleach everything but house needs to be sterilized to get rid of it completely. If not it lives until killed and any pup will contract it if not done.
You have my condolences on the loss of your pup. So sad.
Talk to your vet to see what he/she recommends for outside.
Inside cleaning should be anything that the pup could have touched needs to be cleaned with a bleach solution...including dog toys and bedding.
Floors need to be cleaned with a bleach solution or carpets need to be steam cleaned. Cloth furniture should also be steam cleaned.
The one thing most people forget is to clean the bottoms of all shoes/boots with a bleach solution--anything worn in the time when the pup was ill.
Sending up lots of prayers and good wishes!
