Going Back to Original Hair Color

So, what do I do when I had highlights at a salon. I kept them for about 2 months but I didn't like them so later on, I bleached my hair and then dyed it dark blonde. It also came out bad still I kept for about 1-2 weeks then I dyed it back to dark brown and it pretty much looks black but still you can kind see some of the blonde in random strips. I just want to know how I can get my natural hair color back and what helps with hair growth.

There are several options you can consider. The first option is growing out your hair with natural highlights. Balayage highlights are very low maintenance and easy to use and take care of. You can get these done at a hair salon. The highlights will be used on the roos only and this helps to blend in your natural color roots to the color your hair is dyed now.

The second option is to dye your hair back to the original hue your hair color is now. This can be done at a salon so when the roots grow out and your hair grows your natural color will return.

The third option is to strip out the color in your hair and then allow it to grow out again. This is not such a good option because when you remove the color you have put in your hair now, your hair normally won't be the same color as before.

You can always get a short hair cut and allow your hair to grow out naturally. Normally people do not like this option and they try to do the highlight or dye their hair back to their natural hue.

Keep in mind that you have done a lot of dying on your hair and this can cause major damage to your hair. Whatever option you choose you will need to do regular trims on your hair and cut off the damage on the ends of your hair. Hair can only grow so fast and this all depends on the person. You can't make your hair grow any faster than your hair naturally grows right now. You'll just need to wait and allow your hair to grow out and try one of these options while it is growing out.

Try something like Color Oops Extra Conditioning Hair Color Remover. It works and it does not kill your hair. You can get it on Amazon.

I do not have experience with hair coloring but after all the changes you've been through it seems like a short rest for you and your hair would be the best way for right now??

After a rest maybe you have a favorite hairdresser that could help you with getting your natural color back.

If you plan to do this yourself, then I would advise you to do as Attosa says and buy Color Oops Extra Conditioning Hair Color Remover as she always seem to have gorgeous 'colored' hair (and nails!).

I think it is time for a professional! I would find a salon with great reviews and they specialize in color removal and hair repair. You owe it to yourself to get right, and healthy! Once you find one, ask questions, like how to keep up your treatments at home.

Most of the time after color, it's your shampoo and conditioner brand that changes your hair. Each bottle/tube has a ingredient that strips or changing the color and sometimes damage the hair. It is so worth it to know!
