I received a recipe for a Gooey Cake. This is made with a cake mix. I liked the concept of the cake but this was entirely too sweet. I am diabetic so I try to stay from the sweetest of the sweet. I began to alter to suit my taste.
I started with a chocolate cake mix, my favorite candy bar is a Mounds bar, I began to try different ways to make it mine. It has taken four years and finally, because I did not have any canned or sweetened coconut in the bags, I used what I had in the freezer. Bingo!
Yield: Can be cut to suit what you want. From 12 to 24.

What in the world is null? I am =81 and have been cooking and baking for a long time, but I have never heard this term before. Thanks for an explanation
Add 1 teaspoon of coconut flavoring to the cream cheese filling to boost the flavor.
Computers are not my thing. While trying to enter enter the ingredients the null kept coming up, I could not delete them. The null has nothing to do with measuring.
The frozen coconut does not have the really sick sweet flavor that the canned and plastic packages have. The frozen coconut has some sugar but the fresh flavor is more pronounced.
