In saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Add water, cook over medium heat until thickened and clear. Remove from the heat. Add gelatin, and stir until dissolved; cool. Add grapefruit. Pour into the pie shell. Refrigerate until firm. Top with whipped cream.
