My mother used to make this. I remember eating it as a child and it was so good. This is my cousin's recipe. When her health was good, she would make this and bring it to our covered dish family gatherings. It was enjoyed by all.
I had forgotten I had the recipe and ran across it when looking through my old recipe file. I just had to try it. After I got the sweet potatoes grated, putting it together to bake was quick and easy.
This will be a great dish to make for Thanksgiving, when the sweet potatoes in our area are fresh.

My granny used to make this often only hers was called A Sweet Potato Pone ,It had more flour it was delicious I like mine cold.
My grandma used to make what we called a sweet potato pone, she cooked it on top of the stove stirring constantly on a low fire Before transferring to a baking pan. She used more kinds of spices, butter sugar flour flavorings then baking. It was always sooo good. everyone wanted her to bake it. This was favorite in the community.
