One of the dogs in the office chewed on the plant and caused it to completely break off and fall over.
Can I just cut off the yellow part, stick it in the soil, and wait for it to grow back? Also, what should I do with the broken stump?
Lastly, why might some leaves have turned completely yellow on the non- broken off part of the plant?
Your feedback will be much appreciated!
Thank you!

Broken Dieffenbachia
Step 1
You can put the yellow stump in rooting hormone and hopefully it will take and be able to grow again.
Step 2
Put the rest of the plant back in the soil. It may be in shock, but this is a hardy plant and I think it will come back.
Step 3
Yellow leaves is a sign of overwatering. Water evenly.
Dog ate dumb cane plant.
Step 1
Dumb cane is toxic to your pet.
Step 2
You can replant if it has the root on it.
Step 3
You need to re-pot with fresh soil that is why the leaves are turning yellow.
Step 4
Use sterilized equipment so you do not spread diseases to the plant.
Step 5
Also wash off in warm water.
Step 6
Do not over water it will cause the plant to rot.
