Growing Hair Faster?

I was wondering if there was a fast and easy way to get my hair to grow longer and faster. Also, is there a way to curl my hair without heat and special products?

My mother always told me to have your hair grow faster, cut or trim it during the new moon. May be an old wives tale but have done this for years and do it with my kids and their hair grows like a weed. (I try to trim my son during the full moon around the holiday season so he doesn't need trimmed as often.)

As far as curling or waving your hair, just braid it wet, if it is long enough, or put it on soft rollers at bedtime (I have also used rag/ribbon rollers for tighter curls). You can even lightly mist your hair to make the curls set better.

These curls will stay good for a couple of days usually or until the hair is washed. (You may need to reduce the amount of hair conditioner used since that makes hair harder to curl.)

For 'permanent' curls, as far as I know, chemicals are all you can do but with the damage it causes to the hair and scalp, the smell of the processing, and the cost for only 6-12 weeks of curls, it just doesn't seem worth it to me.

My little sister's (53 years old) hair doesn't grow fast & she has lost a lot of hair due to thyroid problems & hormone imbalances. Someone told her to take Biotin to help her hair grow. She has been taking it for a while now & her hair is growing like a weed. It's even catching up to mine. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hair grows at its own rate - about 1/2 an inch a month, I think. There is nothing you can do to make it grow faster. Nothing.

You can set your wet hair on rollers, and dry it with a hair dryer like they used to years ago, or just let it air dry. If you want a permanent curl, you have to get a perm, and the home perms work fine, but, of course, they are stinky.

A curling iron is by far the simplest method to curl your hair. I preferred a butane one, but electric is good.
