My hair never grows. It's never grown longer than my shoulders. Around my hair is already thin, but it doesn't grow long and I'm so sad as lots of girls or friends look beautiful in long hair. I always have short hair so give me ideas how to grow it!

Everyone's hair length is programed in their genetic makeup. Just like short hair cats or dogs. Mine would never grow long either. What you can do is make the best of the hair you have. If the ends split have them trimmed a little often. Split ends break off and make your hair look thin. Find a hair style for shorter hair that flatters you. Shorter doesn't mean short, just enough to keep your ends healthy. Unhappeness is often caused when we want what we don't have. Look at models with shorter hair, not ones with long hair. Hair isn't everything. Kindness and helpfulness goes a long way further than long hair.
Well the first thing you need to know is that hair is dead skin. It doesn't so much grow as is replaced by new skin cells. Given that, it never "grows" much more than 1/4" a month.
When I was a kid my hair was cut like my 3 brothers. Later I decided to grow it. My thick hair grew to almost my knees. I would get shocked reactions sometimes, and the same question. Remember that hair is dead protein. It has a lot to do from within. Eat healthy, don't smoke, take prenatal vitamins, exercise, low stress, trim, etc. Now I have shoulder length hair because it was donated.
I know you want long hair - I did too but it just didn't grow much at all. But here's the thing Kaci - why must you look the same as everyone else? I would assume you're pretty young? When you're older, you'll appreciate your individualism. In the meantme - have you seen the new styles out of Hollywood? Short, short, short.
If you have fine-hair and perm it I found that it will seem like it doesn't grow because it breaks off rather than growing longer hair.
Once I gave up perming my hair it is healthier and does actually grow!
