Hair Stuck in Eye?

Recently there was a piece of hair (not eyelash) around 1-2/3 cm that went into my eye. I tried to take it out with water, cotton swab but it didn't come out. I last saw the piece of hair on the top corner of my eye on the red part next to my nose. It was very difficult to get it out. The next day, it's gone, but I don't know if it has gone up into my eyelid or it has exited my eye. I still do feel stinging pain in my eye. I need help.

If washing out your eye with a good eyewash has not helped to remove the hair in your eye it is time to go and see an eye doctor. Don't mess around with your eyes and take precautions at all times. The hair can go to the back of the eye which will make it extremely difficult to get it out. If you are feeling any pain or discomfort at all it is time to go and see a specialist who can determine if the hair is still in your eye or if you have just irritated your eye when trying to remove the hair.

Waiting too long can cause more damage to your eye and can take longer for your eye to heal. I would make an appointment today and get to the doctor as quickly as possible. Tell the doctor what has happened and maybe they can get you in a bit sooner so you can have your eye looked at.

I hope you have seen an eye doctor and well on the way to recovery.
Eyes are very precious and can be damaged without us realizing it.
When something does not wash right out of your eye it tends to sort of 'stick' to the eye and seems to get even more difficult to remove. An eye doctor has a profession eye washer that will remove any object and also cleanse the eye.

When you removed the hair you probably scratched the surface and that is why it was red and blurred. This can be bad because without proper cleansing your eye could get infected.
Sometimes a doctor will have you wear a patch over an eye because that keeps you from opening and closing the eye lid and gives the injured eye a rest and enables it to heal faster.

At this point it is time for a professional. You have done more than enough to your eye. More of the same could really damage your eye. Washing is the only advice, and be really careful on how and what you use.

The stinging feeling can also mean that you may have irritated it a little and it's a little sore.

Yikes!! Please do not mess with your eye any more. If you have a PCP, see him/her or if you have an eye doctor, see him/her. Last resort, one of those minute clinics or urgent cares (but they usually have very high copays). Thing is, you only get one pair of eyes so be careful and get it looked at by a professional! Prayers for healing. Post back with an update!

I have had my eyelash stuck in my eye. It was very irritating. I throughly washed my finger and was able to get it out. You should see a doctor if you ned assistance.

Just an addition

All of your long suggestions re hair in the eye tell you this: You can't get to an ophthalmologist within a week so doctors suggest things here. I get irritants in eye often by cleaning and long hair and wind

Usually, I use eye wash and glasses, no other pharmacy solutions.
