Half of Roses Drying Up?

I planted medium size roses that bloomed in abundance about four years ago. Half of the rose bush stems are drying up from roots to the top of bush.

I am not sure but you might try taking a banana peel, or half of an over ripe banana and digging a hole near the base of your rose bush, put the banana peel in and cover it up with dirt and then water your plant. Bananas have potassium and your plant should perk up and have beautiful green leaves and blooms again.

You either have a fungus or an insect problem
