I made these for my daughter-in-law's special needs class from leftover scraps of felt. I looked online for ideas for decorating the masks and found a basic pattern.

Supplies:
- scrap felt
- glue
- straws
- scissors and pins
- paper pattern
Steps:
- Print basic paper pattern from link and cut out pattern piece. Look for ideas online for inspiration on how to decorate your mask. Pin basic pattern piece to felt and cut out. Make your own embellishments from scrap felt to make your design. The pattern piece pictured below is from the link and is part of the fox mask. For the other animals, I just made my own patterns by looking at some examples online for animal masks.
- I made seven different animal masks. After cutting out the pattern pieces from felt, use a craft glue to glue the parts together. Because the felt is lightweight, I glued the whole mask to a piece of felt for a backing and to make it more sturdy. I placed weights (books) on top of each mask until they were dry. When dry, I cut around the backing fabric, including the two eye holes. Then, I stapled a straw to one side. The completed one is "Miss Piggy."
