Brown meat and onions; drain well. Combine all ingredients in a large soup pan. Simmer, covered, at least 2 hours or all day! Serves 10.

When I use beef in soup or stew, I only ever use hamburger. In my many years of cooking, I have never used any other kind of beef. I have a girlfriend who was horrified when I mentioned hamburger stew. She said "how do you make that?" (03/30/2010)
