Hanging Dog Leashes

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 107 Posts

In a home with multiple dogs, there are several ways to keep dog leashes organized and readily available when you need them.

  1. Hang a shelf style coat rack on the wall near the door you use most often when taking your dogs outside. Hang leashes individually on the hooks beneath the shelf. Dog treats, dog coats and sweaters, or your outdoor accessories such as gloves or hats can be kept on the shelf above the coat hooks or in cubbies that are part of the coat rack design.

  3. If space near the door is severely limited, decorative cup hooks can be screwed into the wall beside of the door and leashes can be hung on them.
  4. A wall mount key holder requires little wall space and is ideal for hanging multiple dog leashes. For a more decorative option, choose key holders with a dog motif as part of their design.
  5. Another organizational option is to keep a multi-section storage unit in a specified area such as the laundry room or an enclosed porch or back entry way. Designate a box, basket, or shelf for each pet and keep their supplies and accessories there.

HI, we use the over the door hooks that hold 4-8 items. They come from Marshall's or TJ maxx or Walmart. ( apx 9.99-14.99 ) They have "gem" colored ends or plain silver, gold, brass ends. OR I use a curtain hook tie back, mounted vertically near the back door. They come from a Home Depot/ Lowes kind of store.

They have pretty "ends" you can pick from, and that hook holds all of the dog's items, a big towel and my dog coat and gloves. It is such a nice looking hook, and big, that we put them in all of the kids rooms and all of the bathrooms, so that nothing is ever left on the floor!

I have dog leashes on hooks by the front and back doors. I also keep a couple in our van in case of emergencies. You never know when you might come across a stray that needs to be rescued.
