How and when did you get your pet?
I volunteer with a pet rescue, AARF and Hank was an owner surrender due to a relationship change and because he needed much more than the previous owner could give him. A friend of a friend called desperate to find someone to help. When I took him on, he was very sweet, but completely untrained, hyper and very strong. He was also so cute, great with other dogs, and a funny boy. I fell in love, but knew that to re-home him, he needed a firm hand and someone experienced who could take over where we left off. The work began and Hank was bright, very energetic, and strong. He was wonderful once he settled down with a great deal of exercise and training.
What does your pet like to do for fun?
He loves to hike, run, swim, and snuggle with his forever owner! Most importantly, he is happy now!
Do you have anything else to share about your pet?
It is so important to chose a dog that is right for you. Big, strong, energetic dogs cannot be cooped up in a crate in a house 12 hours a day and then be expected to be a couch potato when the owner comes home from work tired.
