Having Acne Scars Removed with Laser Treatments?

There are few marks on my body and I would like to remove them. I have already tried all the (DIY) methods to remove them, but I cant get rid from them. So now I have found that dermatologists can help me to remove these scars and acne. Any idea how much it costs?

It depends on where you live. You should ask the doctor the price per treatment and how many treatments you will need. Some insurance companies will not reimburse since it is considered cosmetic, so check that out. If I could afford it, I would do it. I would also ask to see before and after pictures of clients. I would also ask around to find out the doctors reputation

How much will it cost you to go through that company? Be sure to compare their prices to a few others before you decide.

I have a friend who had laser hair removal done pretty much everywhere.

She got a series of Groupons to save money on the service.

Hi! Cost should only be part of what you look for in this process.

This is your body and QUALITY is much more important than cash in this case.

Review Yelp and any other consumer source you can find to get a feel for how people like the results from who you choose to do this.

I strongly recommend talking to your PCP BEFORE going to any dermatologist or company to have this done, for 2 reasons...

1 is that there are some cases where removing marks can be considered medically necessary and paid for by insurance (which means if they are causing you pain, if they get infected, or other health related reasons. If you met the insurance company's criteria for payment, this could be paid through health insurance. Your doctor (OR dermatologist not a laser shop person) can tell you this.

2 is even if it is considered cosmetic, you need to make sure you are healthy enough to have the procedures AND ask your doctor to recommend who he/she would go to if they needed a procedure like this done. Do not just go by ads, groupons, coupons, radio ads, TV ads, or web blasts, Facebook promotions etc. No matter how small the spots, if they are doing something to your skin this is a medical procedure and needs to be treated with that respect to your body!

I have seen these procedures go very wrong when done by unqualified people so you need to know the qualifications of who you are seeing. You want the person to be an MD OR DO if possible. If possible, you want someone BOARD CERTIFIED in cosmetic surgery (even if it is not being classified as cosmetic surgery...you want someone who has had this extra schooling to do the procedure).

I cannot stress enough that is a medical procedure no matter what and SAFETY first. Please post back what you learn and how it all goes. Wishing you all the best!

Apparently you live in or near Jacksonville/Orange Park, Florida and there are a lot of doctors that do this type of surgery.

The surgeons you mentioned (link) have a very high rating in this area but they are in the higher cost bracket so unless you have unlimited resources you probably should check out several doctors before making a decision.

It would probably be a good idea to see if they (anyone you wish to see) will give you a free evaluation so you can determine if you would like to go further.

Make very sure they give you all costs involved (ask if this will be the total cost) before you leave the office. Be sure they explain to you just how much improvement you can expect so you will not be under the impression that you will have "new" skin when that may not be possible.

Check out their reputation before you make any decisions as this is a very serious procedure you are contemplating and not all turn out the way the ads on TV show.
