So yesterday on Thanksgiving, the house I was living in with a friends caught fire and is a complete total loss. Everything I had was there. I didn't own the house, my friend did. What do I do from here to get help with basic necessities and such? My friend has a lot going on I don't want to ask him. He just lost his home. He was letting me stay there to get out of an DV situation.

You can contact the Red Cross, local Churches, Social Services, friends and family, D V shelters, neighbors. You can also check into renting a room from someone, often they don't cost much. Maybe you can barder fees for a job, like , baby sitting, pet sitting, house cleaning ,etc.
You can contact the Red Cross, the department of social services in your area and local churches. If you have insurance, contact the insurance company.
The previous answers are where I would start. In addition, perhaps someone can do a fundraiser of sort - either in person, or via gofundme.
I would approach my local church with my need and ask for help. If not there is the Red Cross that is so helpful.
